Twitter's Jabber Support Released Under GPL

We thought it would be a good idea to share the simple Ruby library that makes the implementation of Jabber functionality really easy. Blaine has released an extraction of the Jabber support that was added to Twitter under the GPL on behalf of Obvious. Check out the code and docs at Blaine's blog. Thanks Blaine!

I'd like to be able to make an individual blog post a "friend" of my twitter account. In other words I'd like to be able to associate a blog post with twitter so that I can automatically do some "live event twittering" like a did for Comic Relief. To manually accomplish this I cut and pasted my gtalk thread into the blog post, but it would be nice if I could set up an association, and start twittering. Then a user could simply refresh the page to see updates, and my sweet sitemap would quickly get the content indexed by Google. My Comic Relief post is on the first page of Google for many queries.

I'd write this on my own blog but blogger (non beta) has been broken for ftp accounts for over 24 hours.
