I have a quick idea for your blog: get a public todo list, like http://30boxes.com/blog/ That way I wouldn't have to write the following:
I've got some ideas that would make me actually start using Twitter.
1. I would like Twitter to update my Jabber status and my MSN "friendly name" (alternatively, that new "personal message" that MSN has). Of course I'd have to give up my login details to Twitter... OR, you could call up meebo.com and ask them for some two-way integration - say, I give you my meebo details and you do my status updates based on that.
Simple flowchart:
|Me| -> |Twitter| -> |Meebo| -> |Friends who can't be bothered to use anything but MSN or Gmail|
This way, Twitter becomes THE unified status update channel, which seems like the one good reason to be using it.
2. The ability to have non-public feeds/timelines, eg. Privacy Levels. Say, I might want to do an update going "FRIENDS planning to take over the world!" and another one going "PUBLIC not at all browsing ebay for plutonium". The friends-one might also automatically be chosen for the aforementioned IM-status update jiggy, while the public one might go on my blog, all based on some simple input-output rules set by the user.
Again, the pointless flowchart:
|Me| -> |Twitter| -> |Chart with input-output publishing rules| => |All kinds of places|
(See, if only there were a public todo-list on this blog, you wouldn't have to read this ramble.)
hey when can text messages to twitter be counted as local messages. i am from india and i really really want to use twitter here at much better rates..
so why no option to have new friend notifications twittered to you? then you could befriend them back quickly via IM/txt if that's your thing.
