Twitter API Updates and New Documentation
Speaking of awesome Twitter projects coming out of the developer community, we've recently updated the Twitter API to include direct messaging and a since parameter among other things. Alex spent some time documenting our API in more detail. If you're a Twitter API developer, by all means join our group Twitter Development Talk to stay in the loop on new stuff like this.

I have to admit, the caching REALLY BLOWS. You basically took the two good things about your service - instant updates and quick chats - and got rid of them.
Now we're left with 1 hour between updates for clients AND the only way to get instant updates is to be on your slow unstable websites?
No thanks. Way to shoot yourselves in the foot.
Alex can chime in more here, but the only time based expiration we introduced was on the public time line, and it's 1 minute, not an hour. Everything else is expired in real time.
In the near future we will also be releasing an XMPP based API, which will all you to get updates in real time without polling.
Can you make a .po file to send you translations?
It would be nice to have twitter in other languages.
first comment pretty much covers it. very few tweets making it to the PTL & 4mns between updates is crazy

twitter lingo help page misses some commands (and i am sure there are more):
followers - who is following you
d nick msg - send direct message
the IM shorthelp misses "get [nick]" as an pretty important command
