Camaraderie froth
An email from Samara Hamilton, a Product Manager at Enliven Software:
I just wanted to tell you how fabulous Twitter has been for our team! Not only have we cut our email time in half, but more importantly, our business is getting a super unique feel that we didn’t quite have before…a little more chummy, a little more in touch, and let me tell you, there’s a whole lot of idea blasts going on! Thanks a TON for putting such a unique and relevant solution out there! It’s like you figured out a way to puree accountability, self-startedness and teamwork for idea sharing and came out with a bonus of camaraderie froth. Twitter: For us, it’s like talking with your teammates, without the neck breathing of asking them “What’s going on?” yourself! Thanks, Samara!
Do you use Twitter at work? How?

I guess it would depend on the business. In my particular case, I cannot see a good call for exchanging information via Twitter with my co-workers, primarily because the information that we share normally shouldn't be seen by others (such as our competitors). My employer (a Fortune 500 company) has set up a private instant messaging capability that could be used for such communications, which would probably be better than Twitter.
However, a more transparent company could certainly use Twitter to exchange information, not only within the company but with its customers.
We use Twitter all the time at digital-telepathy. Someone's always posting a new link to check out or something funny that they are up to.
I like it because it's a fun and fast way to share cool info with our team and our community, and to connect on a more personal level.
