Twitter Chooses NTT America Enterprise Hosting Services

We have a stated goal to make Twitter a reliable global communication utility. While we continue to grow around the world, reliability is our most important measurement of success. In order to become a utility that people will use every day for more reasons than we could ever imagine, we need to earn trust.

We're proud to announce our strategic alliance with a company known for reliability. A subdivision of the historic Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, NTT America is part of an organization capable of restoring power to an entire nation in the wake of devastating natural disasters.

This history of reliability and global perspective attracted Twitter to NTT America Enterprise Hosting Services. As Twitter grows and more people around the world depend on our infrastructure, we feel an increased responsibility to make the right decisions for the people who have helped make us a success as well as those who have yet to discover our service.

Thanks for you patience and kind words while we move toward our goals. We're very excited about this alliance and will keep you posted as we move forward with this relationship and all the projects we plan to tackle together.

Happy, Happy Joyent to this, in the same week? It's like the weather in Michigan: If you don't like it, wait a few minutes; it'll change.

Good to hear. The Japanese company will be a reliable partner. I am glad to read that they helped the Republic of China, i.e. Taiwan.

I will "twitter" about this... I had to remove the Twitter application on my blog due to the downtime at your site. My blog didn't load correctly, so I had to remove the script. I will add it soon again.

All the Best,

P.S. Ev: I enjoyed the article in The Economist.

So if there are outages now, will we call it Verio's fault? This is all really confusing.

If you'd just quit using Rails, you wouldn't need half of this infrastructure.

Good luck with the switch, although Joyent probably originally got some business from new sign-ups based on your usage of them (before the downtime troubles) I doubt that NTT will since they're not as well known here in the States.

NTT will certainly let you guys expand into Asia much more quickly though won't it?

also known as verio. ntt america has merely invested money in a dying ISP aka verio. maybe verio is doing better these days but last I heard they were struggling. obviously reliability wasn't completely joyent's fault as the service is dropping updates among other things.

Actually, NTT America Enterprise Hosting and Verio are unrelated—Twitter has no partnership with Verio.
