Follower Stats by TwitterCounter

Here's a fun new application from Dutch entrepreneur Boris Veldhuijzen van Zanten and friends that will appeal to anyone who likes simple stats. TwitterCounter is a free service for folks who want to track and share the number of followers they have on Twitter.

Thanks for the review! So far we have generated more than 12 million counters on thousands of blogs so people seem to like it!

BTW, why is TwitterCounter allowed to follow thousands of people without repercussion? Following 2,000 and being followed by only 102? What gives??

What's going on with the issue of people losing masses of their followers/followees on Twitter today? At least my follower numbers are accurate on TwitterCounter, if not on Twitter itself. Are you guys going to fix this issue?

You have just erased followers from everyone! I lost over 100 followers PLUS ppl I am following. I have no idea who all these ppl are that I lost !

What are you DOING?

Is there a reason why I've lost about 20% of followers and 7 (of 47) people I follow overnight?

I think the timing on this is too ironic considering that everyone now is using it to see how much the follower situation screwed them up, instead of tracking growth.

Irony at its best

What is going on with Twitter and when will it be fixed. I don't feel like posting any more as over night I lost 1/2 of my followers and 2/3 of the ones I was following. And my numbers were not in the hundreds or thousands. I had 82 followers with like interests and many belonging to the same organizations.

I can't get any satisfaction from your posts on help and there's no way to contact you direct.

I know you've lost some people i know personally who forgot their passwords and your reset password link wasn't working.
