NFL Week 4: on the field and on Twitter

Tuesday, 2 October 2012

The refs are back.  Most teams are now a quarter way through their season, and players and fans have kept the momentum going with @NFL chatter on Twitter. For Week 4,  the @chicagobears and @dallascowboys game lead the way as the most Tweeted-about game, charged up by Tony Romo’s #MNF performance.

Fans love their evening football, and the #SNF match-up between NFC East rivals, @eagles vs. @giants was a contender for the most tweeted-about game for Week 4.  The birds came away with a 19-17 victory, but @TeamVic’s 2 TDs made him the most tweeted-about player during the game.

After Green Bay’s unforgettable loss last week that stirred up controversy on the field and on Twitter, the @packers managed to bounce back, just edging out the @saints. However, their win was not without dispute. While the officials may have changed, their blown calls did not. Fortunately for the Packers, it did not cost them the game.

While many games were close in Week 4, others were not. The @49ers 34-0 shutout against the @nyjets sparked @TimTebow chatter as some had predicted in preseason.

Meanwhile, Tebow’s former team, the @denver_broncos, took down the @raiders in another blowout.
