#TwitterForGood Day Fall 2017

By
Friday, 17 November 2017

Giving back has been a priority of Twitter’s since the company started over 11 years ago. While there are often employees out volunteering in our local communities, twice a year we have company-wide #TwitterForGood Days. During our Fall #TwitterForGood Days, teams from around the world came together to partner with organizations that are integral to bettering our communities. From meal preparation to digital literacy classes, from urban clean up and youth empowerment initiatives and more, Twitter staff  teamed up with nonprofits that dedicate themselves to doing incredible work locally and impacting the world in a positive, tangible way.

Here’s a snapshot of some of the ways our employees spent the time across the globe  We’ve also captured it all in this short Twitter Moment.

There With Care Cereal Box Drive (Boulder)

@TwitterBoulder partnered with There With Care (@ThereWithCare) for a cereal box drive. There with Care provides a wide range of thoughtful and fundamental services to low income families during the critical phase of a medical crisis for one of their children. Cereal plays a critical role as a go-to snack for families with children who are travelling back and forth from the hospital.

The holidays represent a particularly difficult time; many families simply don’t have the resources to do a ‘traditional’ holiday meal because they have focused all of their time and energy on their child who is fighting for their life. The @TwitterBoulder office is also fundraising for, purchasing, and delivering much needed holiday meals and gifts to five large There With Care families for Thanksgiving and the Holiday season.
