The BlackBerry community has spoken, and we’ve listened: Today we’re releasing a feature-rich update for BlackBerry 10 that helps you connect more seamlessly to the people and topics you care about. And since BlackBerry users asked, we’ve focused especially on functionality in this release. Here’s a summary of what’s now available in version 10.2:
Direct Message (DM) - You’ll now be able to view, reply and compose direct messages through the BlackBerry Hub.
Multiple Twitter accounts: We now offer support for managing up to 5 Twitter accounts. Your main account will be integrated within BlackBerry OS; you can access 4 more of your accounts through the Twitter app.
Discover: A new Discover page delivers a stream of Tweets, accounts to follow and more. In addition, the Activity page lets you view what your followers are doing on Twitter, like who they are following or what tweets they are favoriting.
Photos: Now you can save photos that are shared on Twitter to your BlackBerry. When you long press on a photo in full screen mode, you’ll have the option to save it to your camera roll.
Search: We’ve updated search to better help you find what you’re looking for. We’re adding username and hashtag suggestions as you type your queries, as well as the ability to view your recent and saved searches.
Timelines: We’ve widened timelines to fill the screen for better browsing. We’re also making it easier to see the most recent Tweets. Now, when you log into Twitter from your phone, you’ll automatically be taken to the top of your Tweet stream.
If you’re running Blackberry 10, you can download this update from the App Store.
