Tweet to "save" artists on NBC's The Voice

Tuesday, 12 November 2013

Breathe easy, Voice fans, because now you have the power to save your favorite artists from elimination — instantly — in 140 characters or less.

During tonight’s show, tweet your “Instant Save” vote to determine the fate of performers competing during the live broadcast. Previously, only coaches on The Voice had the power to make a save. Now, using Twitter as a real-time public platform in conjunction with a live TV broadcast, the power is yours. You’ll have just as much say as @xtina, @blakeshelton, @adamlevine and @CeeloGreen.

With “Instant Save,” viewers like you will be able to choose which of the lowest-ranking three performers you want to save from elimination. Simply tweet “#VoiceSave” plus the artist’s first name within five minutes of the TV prompt. The “Instant Save” Tweets will be tallied, and the final results will be announced live, before the end of the broadcast.

This is how it will work: Viewers in Eastern and Central time zones watch and tweet during the live show; at the same time, those in the Mountain and Pacific time zones can tweet their choice while following @nbcthevoice. “Instant Save” will be used on the show on November 12, 19, 26 and December 3.

To be sure you don’t miss a beat, The Voice host, Carson Daly, created a Twitter custom timeline to be a live companion to tonight’s competition. Custom timelines are a stream of Tweets that anyone can create about a topic. Here’s what his looks like:

*Editor's note: As of November 2017, Twitter has increased the character count of Tweets in certain languages to make it easier to share what’s happening.
