#ComingSoon: Billboard Twitter Real-Time Chart

Thursday, 27 March 2014

Today Billboard is announcing a partnership with us to create the Billboard Twitter Real-Time Chart, which will track the real-time U.S. music conversation, using Twitter data.

Music is one of the most talked about topics on Twitter. It’s where influencers, artists and fans discover and discuss new music in the moment. Every day, new songs and new artists get people tweeting in real-time, creating a social soundtrack of ongoing music conversation on Twitter.

To share these conversations more widely, we’re pleased to partner with @Billboard to create the new industry standard for tracking and surfacing the conversation around music as it happens.

The chart will live on Billboard.com; you can also expect to see @Billboard and @TwitterMusic regularly tweet updates as new artists and tracks emerge.

Additionally, Billboard and Twitter have signed a Twitter Amplify partnership, which will help distribute the charts to a wide audience on Twitter and include custom in-Tweet charts and a weekly in-Tweet video round up of the week in music.

Our goal with these efforts is to give artists who share songs and engage with their audience on Twitter a way to get noticed by even more fans, other musicians and industry decision-makers in real time.

There’s more on this at Billboard’s release on our partnership. We look forward to sharing more news about this collaboration soon.
