Introducing a new audio experience on Twitter

Thursday, 16 October 2014

The world’s most influential musicians and media producers already share unique audio content through Twitter every day. Today we’re introducing a new way for you to experience audio directly on Twitter.

With a single tap, the Twitter Audio Card lets you discover and listen to audio directly in your timeline on both iOS and Android devices. Throughout your listening experience, you can dock the Audio Card and keep listening as you continue to browse inside the Twitter app. We’re launching this new audio card in partnership with third-party streaming services. The first partner for streaming on Twitter is SoundCloud.

Introducing a new audio experience on Twitter

Today you can listen to podcasts, music and other types of audio content via this new experience through these @SoundCloud partners:

@DavidGuetta just released an exclusive remix to more than 15.6 million followers on Twitter.

And the rising Chicago rap star @ChanceTheRapper also debuted his new single “Know Betta Blues” through a Tweet.

We’re just beginning to test the Audio Card and plan to make it available to more partners and creators in the future so that many more musical artists and creators will be able to share exclusive, in-the-moment audio to millions of listeners on Twitter.

And of course, follow @TwitterMusic for real-time updates about accounts using our new Audio Card.
