Every day we work to defend and protect our users, and online safety is at the core of this. We are committed to providing our users with a safe environment. To help us do this, we work closely with organisations like The Cybersmile Foundation (@CybersmileHQ) and others to promote digital citizenship and better educate users about being safe online.

The Cybersmile Foundation is a non-profit organisation founded in the United Kingdom. Their mission is to fight cyber-bullying and online hate. They recently expanded to the U.S. and launched @AskCybersmile, the 24-hour helpline in partnership with Twitter. @AskCybersmile is an only-on-Twitter helpline for targets of online abuse. The channel is listed as one of our Trusted Resources for ongoing cyberbullying support.

June 20 was Stop Cyberbullying Day and Twitter joined forces with Cybersmile to increase awareness. Through an Ads for Good campaign, #stopcyberbullyingday began trending in a global conversation that saw users from all over the world stand up against online abuse.

Cybersmile’s feedback and support have been instrumental to us as we continue to grow our safety efforts. Our collaboration has gone beyond the online space: on July 13 our #Tweetfeet team joined Cybersmile in the British 10K London Run to raise awareness on digital citizenship by running across the streets of London.
