The Billboard Trending 140: Nov. 3-17 (double issue)

Saturday, 22 November 2014

This week is double the fun because we’re recapping highlights from the last two weeks. And November has been quite busy, so let’s begin with the battle between @OneDirection and @TaylorSwift13 for the top spot.

In the chart week ending Nov. 10, @OneDirection had the top spot with “Night Changes.” This week, despite their new album release, @TaylorSwift13 managed to grab the top spot with “Blank Space.” She made history with this track, becoming the first woman in @Billboard’s Hot 100 56-year history to succeed herself at the top spot. But don’t feel too bad for @OneDirection — they took five of the overall top tracks for the week: “18,” “Night Changes,” “Fool’s Gold,” “Where Do Broken Hearts Go” and “Girl Almighty.”

This week, @JustinBieber and @CodySimpson’s collaboration on “Home to Mama” came in at #6overall, and #2 on the popular debut chart for the week.

In the chart week ending Nov.10, @CarrieUnderwood was #7 for the week with “Something in the Water.” This came after she premiered the video for the song exclusively on Twitter during the #CMAAwards, where she co-hosted and performed.

This week, @GENASISISHERE took the #1 spot on the overall Emerging charts with the song “Coco.” The track was released on Nov. 9, and the video for the song received a ton of traction, collecting over two million views to date.

In the chart week ending Nov.10, @TPAIN debuted two new tracks that got him on the popular debuts, including “Let Me Through” and “Stoicville.” He premiered the video for “Stoicville” on Nov. 10.

Hip-hop dominated the emerging debuts for the week, pulling in 7 of the 10 top debuts. @BodegaBAMZ took the #1 spot with “El-Rey,” while the @greenhiphop produced track featuring @BlackDaveNYC and @WakaFlockabsm, called “High in the Morning,” came in at #2.

@5SOS remains on the overall Popular charts this week at #10, down 5 spots from the week ending Nov. 10. Their song “Good Girls are Bad Girls” is featured on their new EP, out on Nov. 17, and the video for the song has eclipsed 10 million views!

Don’t miss the @Billboard Real-Time Rewind. Since this week is a double issue, we have two for you, with the most recent one first.
