Tweets to power Saavn Radio

If you’re a music lover, then you’ll appreciate the new music discovery experience on Twitter that we’ve unlocked for you in partnership with music-streaming service, Saavn.

With the launch of @SaavnRadio, you and other users can actually decide the playlist. Simply Tweet your song requests to @SaavnRadio, choosing a track from the extensive Saavn catalogue. The station will also monitor what other users are listening to and sharing to further populate the radio playlist.

Whenever your request is played, you’ll get a confirmation via a mention on Twitter.

The idea when working with Saavn co-founder and CEO Rishi Malhotra, was to combine great content discovery on Twitter with Saavn’s access to your favourite music. The result is that you can now enjoy both things, while creating a unique social music listening experience in the process.

While this is the first time, we’re doing something in the Hindi music space, we’re very excited about how this gives you (and some of us too), the chance to discover new music from emerging musicians as well.

Starting today, @SaavnRadio is available for streaming on Saavn Radio for Web, iOS and Android. The company launched its internet radio service last December, offering Hindi and English music stations according to mood, genre, season, artist or track. Saavn Radio is free for all users and ad-free for Saavn Pro subscribers.
