More ways to sell directly on Twitter

Wednesday, 30 September 2015

Today we’re excited to announce a number of partnerships that will make it easier for retailers of any size to sell products, digital goods, or services directly within a Tweet via Buy Now.

Through these new partnerships we are integrating Buy Now with platforms that power e-commerce sites for merchants of all sizes, including Bigcommerce, Demandware, and Shopify, and enabling new retailers and brands such as Best Buy, Adidas, and PacSun. These commerce partnerships on Twitter are powered by Stripe Relay.

The goal for all our commerce initiatives on Twitter is simple: make it as easy as possible for businesses to connect directly with, and sell to, customers on Twitter. With Buy Now, businesses can drive more conversions and remove much of the friction in the mobile purchasing process. Today, as we begin rolling out to a wider group of platforms and partners, people will have even more opportunities to discover and purchase products from the brands they love on Twitter.

More ways to sell directly on Twitter

“Social platforms are at the center of the democratization of retail. Partnering with Twitter and using the Demandware open APIs, Twitter Buy Now will give our retailers a new tool to engage with customers and drive purchases.” Tom Ebling, chief executive officer at Demandware

“We’ve been a long time partner of Twitter and this is the latest step in working together to innovate our social shopping and commerce experience,” We will continue to work with Twitter to lead the social and digital conversation with a focused pursuit of seamless shopping.” Chris Murphy, Managing Editor of Adidas’ Newsroom.

“Our customers live on Twitter, so giving them an easy way to buy products that they discover in their Twitter feed, without leaving the app, is a no-brainer. Because social media is our single most important marketing tool today, social commerce is obviously a key part of our overarching strategy. Anything we can do to shorten the gap between social engagement and shopping is a top priority.” Gary Schoenfeld, CEO of PacSun

Over the last year, we’ve built commerce solutions that connect customers and brands like never before. This includes making it possible to buy products right from a Tweet, load offers directly to a credit or debit card, and browse or shop collections of products without leaving Twitter. As we continue to develop new products and expand the ecosystem of platforms and partners in the social commerce space, we can help even more brands and customers connect on social and mobile.

If you are a brand or retailer that already partners with any of the platforms above, please reach out directly to your partner team for more information about how to start selling on Twitter.
