Dreamforce 2014 is shaping up to be the biggest event yet from Salesforce, and our team is excited to play a part. If you’re coming, mark your conference schedule for our data science speaking session in addition to the Salesforce $1 Million Hackathon.

Brian Lehman from the our Data Science team will talk about his work on a data visualization that plotted language usage on Twitter from the first Tweet in 2006 to 2013. After looking at that corpus of Tweets, Brian and his team developed a unique way to tell the story of the evolution of languages used over time. It’s likely to be of interest to both data viz experts and novices alike, as he will share techniques for taking billions of data points and creating something that’s meaningful and beautiful. This session will be on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 9:00 a.m. PT in the Developer Zone Innovation Theater.

Some of our Developer and Platform Relations (DPR) Team will also be on site from Oct. 10-12 at the Salesforce $1 Million Hackathon helping participants make the best applications using Twitter APIs. Developer Advocate Jon Cipriano will be hosting a workshop on Friday, Oct. 10 at 7:30 p.m. PT about how to best leverage Twitter functionality into your projects.

What’s more, the DPR Team will give away an awesome prize in addition to Salesforce’s own cash awards to the best hack project incorporating Twitter. How awesome? Oh, just a remote control quadracopter drone complete with a new GoProHERO3+, to capture all of your aerial shenanigans.

Each winning team member will also receive complimentary tickets to Twitter Flight, our first mobile developer conference, on Oct. 22.

We look forward to meeting you at #df14 and can’t wait to see your creative Twitter projects come to life during the hackathon!
