TwitterDrive: Dispatches from the road, Colorado edition

Following our first two #TwitterDrive events in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, we continued our journey on the @Fabric bus to Colorado.

From Las Vegas, we drove almost 800 miles to the east side of the Rockies. We were so excited to meet developers in Colorado that we spent most of the overnight drive hacking, between naps.

Boulder

Our first Colorado stop was the Twitter Boulder office, home of the Twitter data team (@gnip). Once settled in, we spent the afternoon meeting some amazing startups around town, including the innovative teams at @SportsLabsAMP, @quickleft and @VictorOps. We talked with all of them about how Fabric can help solve their challenges in order to build great mobile apps. It was great to hear that these teams were already big fans of Crashlytics, and were excited to start diving into the Twitter Kit.

Our friends at Techstars Boulder (@techstars) graciously hosted our gathering for more than 100 developers. Chris Moody (@chrismoodycom), our VP of Data Strategy, kicked things off with anecdotes about how much Twitter loves Colorado.

Besides the Fabric presentation, we welcomed @WesFelteau from @gosphero to the stage. His talk was not only amazing – he also built an app to control robots from Tweets. He spent the afternoon hacking with @romainhuet to integrate Fabric in a matter of a few minutes.

Denver

Following our fantastic Boulder stops, we hopped back on the bus to drive to Denver. On the way, we stopped by the @Uber_CO office to visit the team at @Ibottaapp for some passionate conversations about Fabric.

That evening, we partnered with @galvanize to host our second sold-out Colorado gathering. Developer advocates @romainhuet and @gpj gave a talk on Fabric and performed live demos, including some new Fabric experiments that were built that day! It was a real pleasure to meet passionate students from Galvanize’s @gschool who even lent their own Parrot drone for a new demo using Fabric and Twitter Streaming APIs.

Next stops

We can’t wait to meet more of you across the country. Last night, we wrapped up our stop in Kansas City, and we’re heading East to St. Louis. Stay tuned for more updates from the road.
