For years, our Gnip APIs have offered rich insights into the conversations happening on Twitter. However, one very important piece of that conversation has been missing: insight into the millions of like events that happen on the platform daily. Likes data has been one of our most requested features—and we know that you’ve been eager to programmatically know who likes the Tweets you care about, as well as understand the number of likes that take place on the Tweets. Today, we are delivering on this request.
Gnip customers can now receive public like events relevant to the Tweets delivered through the Decahose. These events enable insight into who likes your Tweets and delivers accurate counts of likes—yielding real-time public engagement and audience metrics associated with a Tweet.

Likes are available as a standard feature of the Decahose and are delivered via their own streaming endpoint. Similar to Retweets, like events include the Tweet and user metadata associated with each like. To learn more, please visit the documentation. Getting started with likes is easy.
