Six seconds of creativity: April’s brands on Vine showcase

Thursday, 30 April 2015

There have been some fantastic Vines created in the UK this past month. Kicking it off, Toyota and McDonald’s have created beautiful Vines that mash film and illustration to great effect.

  1. Toyota GB

Toyota (@ToyotaGB) has taken the idea of cars having faces to the nth degree. It added illustrations on top of a beautifully shot Vine to create a fun animation for its Aygo range.

  2. McDonald’s

Whilst we’re supposed to laugh at April Fools’ product ideas, sometimes the fake ideas are just so brilliant that we want them in real life. The McDonald’s (@McDonaldsUK) Hand Poncho to protect your paper bag is definitely one of those.

  3. Vodafone UK

Wireless device charging isn’t exactly the most exciting of stories – it could easily be buried in technical specifications. Vodafone (@VodafoneUK) has brought the information to life on Vine, showing how a good story can really sell a product in six seconds. Good night, little Galaxy S6.

  4. Innocent

Bleeep! Piiinng! Schluurrrpp! Don’t forget about making use of sound when you record a Vine. It makes such a difference. The sound effects on this Innocent (@innocentdrinks) smoothie Vine turn it from being a fairly normal (albeit cute) Vine into something much more aligned to its quirky brand.

  5. The Co-op

Chocolate cornflake cakes might be the most simple baking trick in the book, and six seconds is all that’s needed to showcase this recipe. Co-operative Food (@CooperativeFood) neatly summed up the instructions in this cute Easter Vine.

  6. Adidas UK

There are more than seven million loops for this football trick from Adidas UK (@adidasUK). Back of the net.

  7. Twitter Ads UK

And finally, we sneak in a bit of self-promotion. To promote our #PoweredByTweets: The Challenge campaign with the London Design Festival, we made a series of Vines on @TwitterAdsUK that showcase the best Twitter-powered designs: plants, rivers and sharks that all Tweet.
