Brands and users come to Twitter to celebrate London Fashion Week live and in real time

Friday, 16 September 2016

What makes Twitter unique is that Twitter is live. It’s where brands can join a real-time conversation, and when it comes to London Fashion Week we clearly see that in how brands and users connect.

According to our research, Twitter is 3.2 times more likely than other social networks to be up-to-date for fashion events (1). And on the eve of the first London Fashion Week shows, #LFW is already happening on Twitter.

@LondonFashionWk has been Tweeting its countdown of catwalk looks and labels, and brands have been busy building pre-event excitement. When the fashion world Tweets, you can count on stunning images and serious creativity:

The conversation on Twitter brings people closer to the action. 56% of UK users say that Twitter is where they can have a conversation with people in fashion – compared to 19% for the next closest social network (1). Brands can capitalise on this connection by offering behind-the-scenes access.

Among UK Twitter users who follow luxury brands, 39% go on Twitter to see which luxury products celebrities are wearing or using. And one in three intends to buy luxury fashion and accessories in the near future (2).

But it’s not only a conversation for luxury brands. With an impressive 75% of Twitter users in the UK interested in London Fashion Week (3), there’s a wide audience, and they’re ready to engage.

Research shows that Twitter users in the UK are 42% more likely to talk about fashion online vs. the average internet population (4). In short, there’s a big opportunity for brands across the fashion spectrum to be heard this #LFW.
