#DeadlineDay to be live streamed on Twitter with Sky

Monday, 30 January 2017

#DeadlineDay is huge on Twitter and this year it’s going to be even bigger as Twitter partners with Sky to live stream its must-watch transfer news coverage. The deal, the first for Twitter in Europe, opens up new opportunities for brands to advertise within live content.

Direct from @SkySportsNewsHQ, the millions of football fans on Twitter will be able to watch three one-hour segments. This will be broadcast at 12pm, 5pm and again at 10pm as the biggest transfer deals of the day are analysed and discussed.

On this first deal, we’re delighted to be partnering with interactive entertainment firm EA UK (@electronicarts). The brand is already a signature advertising partner with Twitter Amplify and Sky’s Premier League clips. With this deal it takes the next step and extends its reach to live and #DeadlineDay.

The deal will see EA take advantage of 30-second mid-roll ad spots. In addition to this brands will also be able to put targetable pre-roll ads in front of the stream ensuring that they connect with the right audience at the right time.

Our #DeadlineDay live stream highlights how Twitter is able to offer scale, targeting and premium live content like only Twitter can. This deal with Sky has been been built on Twitter’s successful Amplify business, which has seen success around the BRIT Awards, Wimbledon, the Masters and the Premier League.

The live streaming #DeadlineDay coverage on Twitter highlights how the explosive growth in live video creates new opportunities for brands to tell their story on the platform.
