One of the biggest public holidays of the year is right around the corner, and the National Australia Day Council wants to know how you are celebrating. The NADC (@OzDay) and @TwitterAU are asking you to Tweet photos of your #AustraliaDay traditions and celebrations, and you could make a little bit of history

On Australia Day we come together as a nation to celebrate what’s great about Australia and being Australian. As a truly diverse nation, we all mark #AustraliaDay in our own way — with a pavlova and sausage sizzle BBQ, checking out the fireworks, making a gesture of respect to Reconciliation, counting down the @triplej Hottest 100 or one of thousands of other traditions.

This year, we’ve partnered again with the NADC (@OzDay) and the National Museum of Australia (@NMA) for the #AustraliaDay Your Way campaign to capture a digital snapshot of how Aussies around the world marked #AustraliaDay 2015.

All Tweets sent throughout the day with a photo and using the hashtag #AustraliaDay will be curated and retained in a time capsule by the @NMA in Canberra, and then included in an interactive display permanently onsite at the Museum.

So, whatever you do on @OzDay, snap a pic on your phone and Tweet it with the hashtag #AustraliaDay to get your celebrations in the time capsule and be a part of Australian history.

As part of launching the #AustraliaDay 2015 campaign, @TwitterAU last week presented the Twitter time capsule to the @NMA. Here’s a selection of Tweets from the day.

How will you celebrate Australia Day Your Way in 2015? If you’re looking for inspiration, here’s a look at some of the great Tweets from #AustraliaDay 2014.
