#PressPause for better mental health

Friday, 25 September 2015

As part of October’s Mental Health Awareness month, @TwitterAU is partnering with Southern Cross Austereo’s #PressPause program to raise awareness of mental health issues among Australian youth. To launch the month, @JulesLund and @BiancaDye will host a series of live conversations about mental health awareness with under 30s across the national Hit Network wide.

From @DemiLovato to @HughJackman, some of the world’s biggest stars and ambassadors will lend their voices to help raise awareness of mental health issues, as well as tips on how you can help someone else, or get help yourself, to live a happy and healthy life.

You’ll also hear from Twitter’s Director of Public Policy for Australia, NZ & SE Asia @tweetinjules on #PressPause about how social media is connecting and empowering today’s youth.

Twitter wants all users to have a great experience, and feeling safe is a key part of this. @tweetinjules walks through Twitter’s new Empowerment Tools, how to BRIM (block, report, ignore, and mute), and stay safe online. She will also discusses some new resources available for teens that were recently introduced through Twitter’s new and improved Safety Centre.
