The 2018 Summit will salute women’s achievements while continuing to explore practical strategies and best practices in improving women’s economic status, whether they are corporate initiatives, public policies or NGO programs.

@GSWSYD’s unique engagement of the three critical ‘legs’ of change – government, business and civil society – is reflected in its participants, presenters and partners. More than 70 international organisations representing women from five continents are planning to be part of the 2018 Summit in Australia, along with women government Ministers and multilateral agency executives.

The theme of the 2018 Summit - Women: Creating Economies of Shared Value - highlights the ability of women to develop a more inclusive economy as women advance their own businesses and careers.

The speaker lineup is stellar with many topical issues on the table for discussion, including the important role of men in driving change from @malechampions Tim Reed, CEO, MYOB (@TimReedMYOB). We’ll also hear about the role of the media in shaping perceptions from @stangrantMOF and @janecaro. @TraceySpicer from @NOW_aust will discuss the Australian #MeToo campaign and the workplace cultural changes needed to eliminate sexual harassment.

Other Australian speakers include CEO’s such as @cindy_hook from Deloitte, young leaders like @HollyRansom who comes to us fresh from interviewing President Obama, inspiring entrepreneurs such as @catrionawallace, and women excelling in the technology field such as @pipmarlow and Twitter Australia’s @suzynicoletti.

They will be joined by international speakers, such as Sheila Rai Mistry, STEM Institute USA, Xu Ping, Henan Imports China, Ursula Schwarzenbart, Daimler AG Germany who will bring in a global view for Australia on the things that are being done in very diverse markets including Malaysia, Japan, France, and United States.

Attending the GSW in Japan last year was an eye opener. Prime Minister @AbeShinzo spoke with conviction about the essential role of women in Japanese economic growth, and young women in Japan spoke of the same challenges faced by young women everywhere. I am sure @GSWSYD will be just as inspiring!

Join us on 26-28 April 26-28 2018. For more information, visit globewomen.org/globalsummit/ or follow us on Twitter @GSWSyd or @GlobeWomen, and use the hashtag #GSWSydney to join the conversation!
