Who was the Top Canadian on Twitter for 2016?

As 2016 draws to a close, our team at Twitter Canada is shining a light on the Canadians who use our platform to share, interact and engage every day.

In 2015, we conducted a series of polls to see who the Top Canadian on Twitter was for the year.

Toronto city councillor Norm Kelly (@norm) emerged victorious, receiving more votes than other notable Canadians including Justin Bieber (@justinbieber) and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (@JustinTrudeau).

For 2016, we’ve selected 16 new Canadians who used Twitter to tell us what’s happening this year. From Olympic athletes to digital creators, politicians to musicians and songwriters, we are once again asking Canadians to help us decide who the Top Canadian on Twitter (#TopCanadian2016) was for 2016.
