The biggest names in film and entertainment will once again descend on Toronto in the coming days for the Toronto International Film Festival (@TIFF_Net). Now in its 44th year, film fans worldwide will be seeing stars on Twitter during the festival. Tweet #TIFF19 to unlock a custom TIFF emoji and join the conversation.
For the first time, we’ll be in the heart of the festival with #TwitterHouse, an immersive Twitter environment in collaboration with Elevation Pictures (@Elevation_Pics). The space will host a wide range of A-listers and #TIFF19 personalities during the festival.
We will also be hosting a star-studded #SheInspiresMe event during #TIFF19 featuring the cast of the upcoming feature film Hustlers (@HustlersMovie). Scheduled for Saturday, September 7th at 2:00pm Eastern, this panel discussion will feature Hustlers stars Constance Wu (@ConstanceWu), Jennifer Lopez (@JLo), Keke Palmer (@KekePalmer), Lili Reinhart (@LiliReinhart) and Lorene Scafaria (@LoreneScafaria). It will be co-hosted by our global head of culture and experiential, Nola Weinstein (@NolaBeth) and Dr. Stacy Smith (@Inclusionists).
The event promises to be a lively discussion covering cinema, strength and inclusion. Fans can watch live on Twitter via @TwitterWomen.
The official @TIFF_Net account will also be home to a wide range of live-streamed broadcasts from key press conferences, red carpet premieres and masterclasses during #TIFF19. Top Canadian entertainment brands ET Canada (@ETCanada) and eTalk (@eTalkCTV) will also be sharing premium news and video content during the festival, making all three must-follow accounts for film stars during the festival.
Locals will also be seeing top #TIFF19 Tweets on the digital screens in Toronto’s Yonge-Dundas Square (@YDSquare) throughout the festival’s 10 days. Fans will be encouraged to Tweet their support for their favourite #TIFF19 stars with top Tweets selected for our massive outdoor display.
The #TIFF19 buzz has been growing steadily on Twitter since the full slate of programming was unveiled a few weeks back. In past years, the Twitter conversation around TIFF has introduced us to emerging talent, future award winners and other industry trends.
These are the #TIFF19 films and stars that have generated the highest volume of conversation in recent weeks. This is based on volume of mentions alongside either the #TIFF19 hashtag or the @TIFF_Net account.
