Showcasing Twitter Amplify with the IAB

Tuesday, 14 October 2014

This afternoon the @TwitterAmplify team were joined by representatives from ITV (@ITV) and Sky (@skymediaupdates) at the IAB’s Digital Upfronts, a brand new showcase for the UK digital advertising industry.

Twitter’s Theo Luke and Glenn Brown took the opportunity to showcase the Twitter Amplify product, whilst our partners from ITV and Sky presented a range of upcoming Amplify programmes to an audience of advertisers and media owners.

The event was the first time that Sky has spoken publicly about its inclusion in the Twitter Amplify programme. It used the event to share the news with the industry, and highlight the various packages that it’s making available to sponsors in 2014 and beyond.

Twitter Amplify is the live second-screen experience bringing real-time sponsored video highlights into the heart of the conversation on Twitter.

Launched in May 2013, Twitter Amplify is now live in 10 countries and has more than 70 partners including CBS and the NFL in the US, and ITV and TF1 in Europe.

It enables media companies and brands to capture the excitement on TV and distribute it to fans and audiences across Twitter, beyond their followers. Audiences can immediately relive that moment or experience it for the first time on their mobile phones while they engage in Twitter conversations.

IAB members are well aware that TV viewers are an increasingly second-screen-driven audience. Twitter users seamlessly juggle mobile and tablet devices hand in hand with the TV remote. This multi-screen world offers fresh opportunities for brands in the age of #TVxTwitter.

So whether it’s sneak peaks of sneak peaks at Coronation Street, the latest news from Transfer Deadline Day on Sky Sports or the antics of the TOWIE cast, Twitter Amplify can bring your brand into the heart of the social media soundtrack.
