#WeAreOne: Celebrating our Twitter Ads anniversary in the UK & Ireland

Friday, 14 November 2014

It’s been one year since the Twitter Ads self serve platform launched in the UK and Ireland, and we have a lot to celebrate. You can now advertise in 14 countries and 9 languages across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, with the opportunity to reach millions of Twitter users.

That’s not all. Over the last year we’ve made big changes to the platform, including our detailed Analytics dashboards to help businesses measure the impact of Tweets, and objective-based campaigns that make it easier to achieve a desired goal with Twitter Ads. We’ve also created great resources such as the Small Business Planner app, dedicated Small Business website and #OwnTheMoment calendar, all designed to help businesses plan, manage and measure the success of their ads campaigns.

The secret to our growth? Our advertisers, who represent a diverse selection of businesses from all sectors and backgrounds. So what better way to mark our birthday than by celebrating some of the amazing businesses that have successfully advertised with us over the last year and taking a look at how they’ve used Twitter Ads to drive engagement and sales.

If you’d like to learn more about any of the businesses featured take a look at our website.

@AppInstitute wanted to drive more visitors to its website.

What worked: We love the Website Cards feature that allows you to create specialised ads to encourage website clicks. By using the cards you’re able to include pictures that link to your URL when clicked on, so users are directed straight to your website. (Nabeena Mali, [Digital Marketing Manager])

@ohh_deer wanted to increase its engagement rates on Twitter.

What worked: We’ve used Twitter Ads to boost the visibility of our content and ensure it reaches a larger audience. A few of our Tweets have gone viral and we’ve achieved over 800 retweets and favourites. (Mark Callaby, [Co-founder])

@ipostparcels wanted to increase sales.
What worked: We identified a significant consumer event that we thought would have high levels of activity on Twitter. By targeting keywords related to that event and creating a tailored ad we reached the right people in the right moment and drove a 44% increase in sales from Twitter sources. (Sean Lu, [Assistant Online Marketing Manager])
