Get ready for the runway with #LFW

Wednesday, 18 February 2015

Conversation on the streets of London and on Twitter will intersect this week and next as fashion lovers come together on Twitter over London Fashion Week. It all begins this Friday with the industry elite flocking to the front row to check out the latest trends and collections.

Some 67% of UK users said that Twitter was the most up to date platform for fashion-related events. As always, you can keep up with all the action on your favourite shows and collections using #LFW. But that’s not the only way to get involved:

@Topshop

During this #LFW, @Topshop will give shoppers instant access to next season’s hottest looks through Twitter as part of their A/W 2015 show. Using Twitter data to identify trends fresh from the catwalk, Topshop will surface the most popular hashtags as they change in real time.

The trends will be displayed almost instantly on digital billboards around the country, in Tweets from @Topshop, on topshop.com and in the Oxford Circus flagship store. Customers who Tweet to @Topshop with the trend hashtag will get back a curated collection of looks that can be purchased immediately.

The in-store experience will also help buyers to Tweet at a vending machine to receive special Twitter treats, whilst mannequins will be styled throughout the day based on five of the day’s hottest trends.

Behind the scenes, Topshop models will be stepping into a Vine booth. Their full looks will be captured in a 360-degree video and shared via Twitter as they appear on the runway, so those unable to score a ticket to the show can still enjoy the latest collection as it debuts.

#FashionFlock

One of the best ways to keep up with the latest news and opinions this Fashion Week is by following #FashionFlock. We’ve invited a group of fashion influencers – designers, celebrities and editors from all over the world – to share their “access all areas” #LFW insights as they live-Tweet at the runways, parties and backstage. A few of the London influencers include:

We’ve also teamed up with Mophie (@mophie) this year to make sure the influencers have enough power to keep them Tweeting all week with customised @Mophie juice pack cases, as well as being among the first to get their hands on @Mophie’s custom cases for the iPhone 6.

Follow all the action by searching for #LFW and #FashionFlock, along with your other favorite models, editors and bloggers using this Twitter list. Simply subscribe to the list to get all the best content throughout the week.

British Fashion Council

The British Fashion Council (@BFC) will be building on the social success of A/W14 and streaming a number of top shows via Twitter, as well as running a Q&A where fashion followers can ask questions of the experts.

The BFC have also teamed up with CalReply to bring fashion fans closer to the action, wherever they are in the world. By Tweeting a specific hashtag to @BFC, you can download calendar details of all the shows directly to your mobile device so that you miss none of the action.

Finally, here’s a selection of Twitter accounts that will help you keep up to date with all the action as it unfolds this #LFW:
