There was a huge conversation on Twitter over the weekend as the Glastonbury Festival took place and millions tuned in to watch and listen to the BBC’s coverage and Tweet along.

Before the festival, the absence of the Foo Fighters was one of the biggest stories. Once there, there was much for fans and brands to talk about.

  1. @EE

#Glastonbury was a big weekend for EE, which ran a Promoted Trend on Sunday supporting its festival activity. The mobile brand shared a wealth of content including Vines, GIFs and videos, and Tweeted interviews with performers, highlights, tips and competitions to keep fans entertained.

  2. @LidlUK

Supermarket chain, Lidl, got right down to the basics with an offer to tempt many heading to Glastonbury. No mistaking it, you absolutely had to have one of these.

  3. @Tesco

Staying with the camping theme, Tesco focused on things that festival-goers will most appreciate after a few nights in a farmer’s field. It also made a strong showing on the pun front.

  4. @HunterBoots

As well as tents and artists, the other thing in plentiful supply at Glastonbury is celebrities. Hunter spotted more than one sporting another festival essential.

  5. @TopShop, @Missguided and @hmunitedkingdom

Glastonbury is more just music: it’s about what you wear. Whether you are more of a glamper or a camper, Topshop, Missguided and H&M were all there with some Glasto fashion tips and offers.

  6. @ASOS

The online fashion retailer amused with GIFs focusing on some of the things that festival goers would be most looking forward when they got home with the whiff of countryside about them.

  7. @xboxuk

Glastonbury is also a great TV event. Millions tune into watch and join the conversation on Twitter. A reminder from Xbox that there are plenty of ways to do this.

  8. @hmvtweets

Glastonbury has had some great acts perform over the years. HMV was on hand to tell music fans where they could get their hands on some festival greats.

  9. @LEGOLANDWindsor, @easyjet and @Ryanair

Many, of course, didn’t make it down to Worthy Farm in Somerset. But Easyjet and Ryanair were both tempting music fans with other European travel suggestions. And for those still hankering after some Glastonbury fun, Legoland offered up some mini festival fun.
