8 creative wins on Twitter in April

Tuesday, 3 May 2016

This month we’re bringing you lucky folks a Twitter formats extravaganza. The campaigns chosen from April are not only the dollop of creative excellence you come to expect from this monthly post, but they also showcase the very best of Twitter’s product offering.

We have another brilliantly executed Promoted Moment from an FMCG brand, use of Snappy TV, great creator content from Niche (@JoinNiche), good uses of Vine, Periscope, and Twitter-hosted native video. And to top that the return of “Game of Thrones” to British TV screens was supported by a “Retweet to Remind.” As if you needed reminding.

  1. @persiluk

According to Persil, children in the UK now spend less time outdoors than a prison inmate. That can’t be good. Persil UK are fighting back as part of its ongoing and beloved #DirtIsGood campaign. It kicked off with a Promoted Trend, showcasing new research in an incredibly dramatic way. A beautiful film followed, interviewing prisoners in the US. Add to the mix a Periscope with author Sir Ken Robinson, and it makes for a wonderful campaign.

  2. @skyatlantic

“Game of Thrones” is back and was almost impossible to miss on Twitter. This particular blog author has never seen a single episode of “Game of Thrones”. People die in it, right? There was a red wedding? Winter is on its way? Season six is upon us, and so you don’t miss out on who dies next, Sky Atlantic created a brilliant “Retweet to Remind” campaign, so any user who got involved would receive a personal reminder on Twitter when the show was about to begin.

@Dominos_UK also got in on the action, using Jon Snow reaching out for his beloved pizza.

  3. @MarvelUK

“Captain America: Civil War” launches this week, pitting Captain America against Iron Man. The stars of the film came to London for the glitzy European Premiere, and @MarvelUK were there to capture all the behind the scenes gossip and excitement. Using Snappy TV, @MarvelUK created live video clips to share on Twitter, making sure fans were closer than ever to the action.

  4. @StarbucksUK

Starbucks have launched its new #SpringCups, featuring designs from its own baristas. They are so beautiful, they’ve already becoming a bragging right on Twitter, with photos of the picturesque cups flooding our feeds.

  5. @NewBalanceUK

@NewBalanceUK want us to know it’s only ourselves holding us back. We can do anything, hence its latest campaign: #IAmTheCompetition. This beautiful film was launched with Twitter’s new First View product, allowing a brand to make sure theirs is the first Promoted Video a user sees in their feed. Add to that a Promoted Trend and @NewBalanceUK are really making sure we all know who the competition is.

  6. @TRESemmeUKI

Tresemme UK teamed up with Twitter’s creator network Niche, to make some brilliant videos with beauty influencers for its #ReverseTheRoutine campaign. Hair and beauty vloggers were given a bit of a challenge — condition first, then shampoo.

  7. BBC America

Sometimes it’s the most of simple ideas that smash it out the park. This great Vine from @BBCAmerica is a low involvement, super high awareness, tap tap winner.

  8. @LCFC

And finally, as we are publishing today how can we not mention the triumph of Leicester City? Lots of brands joined in the celebrations last night and we have collected some of those in a Twitter Collection. There are some really nice contributions here, check them out below.
