Checkout the best of #TwitterLive from GoProing BMX, to Periscope and a Twitter tech playground

As part of our tenth birthday celebrations, we created an interactive experience called #TwitterLive that put guests at the very heart of our platform. We featured exclusive Periscopes, live performance and created a Twitter technological playground for our guest to explore and create their own only on Twitter moments.

Our pop-up venue played host to a packed agenda including an evening for our creative agency friends #FurtherFaster, which delved into the wonders of live broadcasting with Periscope. Live from Coney Island in Brooklyn, Dan Snow (@thehistoryguy) joined us with a Periscope sharing the history of the island; and Kriss Kyle (@krisscrab) used Periscope to demonstrate his BMX skills whilst GoProing through London.

#LiveOnStage had our guests dancing the night away with two live performances. Snakehips (@snakehipsuk) brought their infectious brand of pop to the stage, and Parisian pop princess Petite Meller (@petitemeller) performed her solid-gold electropop tunes for everyone to enjoy.

Our exhibition space allowed guests to explore Twitter through some unique experiences. Here are some of the highlights:

Twitterverse / Engage Works 

Created by @Engage_LDN, the ‘Twitterverse’ is a snapshot of what the world is talking about as it happens as seen through the eyes of Twitter. Data is visually manifested into a construct of nodes and connections, each forming layers of complex information that are filtered live.

The Vorb / Media2Mattter

@TheVorb let our guests discover Twitter’s greatest videos, Vines and Periscopes. It creates video communities around a hashtag and sends a call to action to others on Twitter to upload videos and start their own Vorb.

Conor Collins

A picture is worth a 1000 words and in this case, it’s more. Conor (@conartworks) created a bespoke piece of art during #TwitterLive made up of more than 200 Tweets about Tim Peake (@astro_timpeake), the British astronaut currently onboard the International Space Station (@Space_Station).

The Woodpecker / Those Works

Ever fancied seeing your Tweet drawn out by a robotic woodpecker? Of course you have. Well, with the help of @thoseworks our visitors got to do just that. The Woodpecker (a portable mechanical robot) drew Tweets live. Over the course of #TwitterLive, the aggregated Tweets formed a living diary of events and emotion.

GIF Exhibition

Last year, people shared more than 100 million GIFs on Twitter — expressing everything from their mood to their favourite dance move. With our GIF Exhibition, we curated a selection of GIFS from some of our favourite visual artists; Al Boardman (@al_boardman), Bran Dougherty-­Johnson (@bran_dj), Robin Davey (@ThatRobinDavey) and Elle Muliarchyk (@ellemuliarchyk) to inspire our guests to get creative. With Twitter Studio, everyone had a chance to realise their artistic dreams and better still, their GIFs became part of our exhibition!

The Tweeture

Sometimes we all need a cuddle and no one more so than The Tweeture. The Tweeture uses simple artificial intelligence, digital technologies and Twitter to tear people away from their screens, strike up new conversations and have some fun.

Homer / Strange Thoughts and Duel

Guests had the opportunity to use the power of their mind to pour a pint thanks to @StrangeThoughtX which create innovative experiences using emerging tech, to create authentic UGC and shareable content. Strange Thoughts and @duel - the world’s only fully automated photo contest platform - combined forces. Check out some of the great facial expressions here.

Vine Booth and Periscope Swing

With our Vine Booth, we created an area for guests to sit back, relax and enjoy some of the best Vines from 40+ Niche creators. And finally, via @TwitterAdsUK we used Periscope to live broadcast throughout the week as people rocked up and took a turn on our swing.
