Twitter is a great way to see what’s happening in the world of food right now, from trending flavours and taste tests to snappy reviews of new restaurants and new dishes. Food brings individuals from different cultures and countries together on Twitter, and people join in to talk about this universally common interest: their love for food.

Earlier this year in March, five of India’s top chefs, critics, and food bloggers, travelled to Australia and brought back food tales on Twitter that would truly delight any foodie through the hashtag #TasteOfAus. Through their experienced eyes (and taste buds) foodies on in India saw Tweets about seasonal produce, new flavours, chic restaurants, olive gardens, cheesemakers, and strawberry farms in Australia, and even live Tweets, photos and videos from one of the world’s best restaurants, Noma.

This week, we marry food and video to bring you closer to the world’s best culinary experiences with chef Ranveer Brar (@ranveerbrar) on a first-of-its-kind food and travel Twitter video show, #RanveerOnTheRoad — an #OnlyOnTwitter experience.

Twice a week, chef Ranveer will Tweet two 3-minute episodes that will feature a food tale close to his heart that he wants to share with his fans on Twitter. In season one, he travels through Australia and shows you Australia through his eyes. From bustling markets in Adelaide and Sydney, to sipping wines at the vineyards of Barossa Valley, each episode will unearth a hidden food story that’s as much about gastronomy, flavours and history, as it is about the heart and soul of the place and the people behind them.

Check out the first episode here.

Each episode in this food and travel Twitter Video Show will offer a curated, handpicked experience of the best local flavours, culture and traditions of Australia. I enjoy the conversation on innovative recipe ideas and new ingredients with my followers on Twitter, and now it’s time to take them along on my gastronomical adventures.

And his followers, thoroughly enjoyed the episode.

Along with these episodes, Chef Ranveer will also go live on @periscopetv to talk about the show and what happens behind the scenes. So follow him on Periscope for even more exclusive access.

In India, food conversations on Twitter have increased by 133% year on year, and video consumption has increased by 400% on Twitter, Periscope, and Vine. Chefs and bloggers are increasingly using video as their tool of self-expression on Twitter, allowing fans to travel with them to new destinations, go behind the scenes, and watch them share pro tips in the kitchen.

A food and travel video series is the perfect way to extend the food conversation and to offer an inclusive experience to the foodie on Twitter.

Follow chef Ranveer (@ranveerbrar), and tune into Twitter every Tuesday and Thursday at 11 am IST. Tweet and join the conversation with #RanveerOnTheRoad, and keep your pulse on the food world Tweet by Tweet.
