Today we are pleased to announce plans to build our first engineering center in Asia Pacific as part of our expansion in this high-growth region. Based in our Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore, the engineering center will help strengthen our global engineering capabilities as well as improve service availability and reliability for people who use Twitter around the world. This is a pivotal moment for Twitter as we focus on accelerating development and continuing to serve the global public conversation.

We are committing to hiring 65 technical talent in Singapore covering product engineering, software engineering, data engineering and data science. This additional investment in R&D in Singapore comes after the success of our international data science team, founded in Singapore in 2016 which was Twitter’s first outside of the US.

Asia Pacific has always been a growth engine for our company and this new engineering center is a strategic investment that demonstrates our commitment to this important region where people, partners and brands come every day to see what’s happening in the world and to talk about it. We are thrilled to bring some of the best, cutting-edge engineering jobs for a global Internet platform to Singapore, from product development to data science to machine learning, and this is truly an amazing time to join our purpose-driven company to serve the public conversation across the world.
