Nearly 6 million Tweets for the #MissUniverse coronation event

As the #MissUniverse coronation unfolded, Filipinos were just as tuned in on Twitter as with their television sets - to nurse their anticipation, air their sentiments, and finally share their happiness as the go-to platform kept them abreast of #WhatsHappening. From the contestants’ beautiful gowns to the unique national costumes, fans all over the world turned to Twitter to spark conversations and share their excitement. #MissUniverse generated close to 6 million Tweets during the coronation ceremony, and it peaked around 9am PHT with 1.4 million Tweets per minute. Philippines became the #1 most Tweeting country, followed by Thailand, the United States, Brazil, and Venezuela which comprised the top five Tweeting countries.
