KCON Japan 2019 (@KCONJAPAN) has wrapped up after three days of great success on Twitter! As Twitter is the best place for KPop fans to see what's happening and join in on conversations, it became the platform of choice for KCON to reach out to fans on a global scale. From live streams of performances to exclusive behind-the-scenes content, Twitter was able to provide Kpop fans around the world with a closer look of their favourite idols at KCON Japan this year.
Featuring the biggest lineup ever at KCON Japan, there were over 290 K-Pop artists from top bands in attendance, such as TWICE (@JYPETWICE), NU'EST (@NUESTNEWS), MONSTA X (@OfficialMonstaX), IZ*ONE (@official_izone) and GWSN(@kiwipop_GWSN). Many solo artists such as Kim Jaehwan (@KJH_officialtwt), Park Jihoon (@Park_Jihoon_twt) and Ha Sungwoon (@HSW_officialtwt) also joined the ranks for an amazing three-day Hallyu Wave convention.
In an amazing feat, there were over 10 million video views of Tweets related to KCON Japan, including 2 million views of the livestreamed red carpet which happened for 2 hours in total from 17 to 19 May. Through the KCON Japan red carpet livestream on Twitter, Kpop fans could watch their favourite idols greet them through the “Twitter Mirror” on the red carpet, which featured a camera that spun 360 degrees around them.
We also saw many Kpop fans interacting on Twitter in multiple languages, including English, Korean and Japanese.
