Kpop fans flocked to Twitter to vote for first-ever MGMA

Twitter is the best place for Kpop fans to find out what’s happening and join in the award shows conversation, making it the perfect platform for M2 and GENIE Music to engage with fans all around the world for the 2019 M2 x GENIE Music Awards (MGMA)!

The collaboration with MGMA (event organizer: CJ ENM) was highlighted by the exclusive content shared through Twitter official handle (@MGMA_Official). This included “The Top Artist” award voting, which fans could vote for their favorite artists to win by using the hashtags #MGMAVOTE and #ArtistName. With a total of 74 million Tweets from 4 July to July 31. The first ever ‘The Top Artist’ award was bagged by Kpop superstars, BTS (@BTS_twt) and #BTS got 6 awards from 2019 MGMA event. 

@MGMA_Official completed the award shows experience for their fans by livestreaming both the Red Carpet and Award Ceremony on Twitter! This allowed over 740,000 fans (only LIVE views, no replay) from all around the world to have a closer look at their favorite idols’ charismatic fashion and performances in real time, even if they were not at the event.

Other unique content were also hosted exclusively on Twitter, including behind-the-scenes videos in 360-degree formats and backstage special Q&A sessions with Kpop artists such as PENTAGON (@CUBE_PTG), where fans could Tweet questions through #AskPENTAGON with the chance of the members fulfilling fans’ curiosity!

Held at the KSPO Dome on August 1 in Seoul, MGMA featured top artists like TWICE (@JYPETWICE), MAMAMOO (@RBW_MAMAMOO), WJSN (@WJSN_Cosmic), TXT (@TXT_Bighit), PENTAGON (@CUBE_PTG), AB6IX (@AB6IX), DAY6 (@day6official), ITZY(@ITZYOfficial), IZ*ONE (@official_izone), NATURE (@nature_nchworld), VERIVERY (@the_verivery), BVNDIT (@BVNDIT_official), Kim Jae Hwan (@KJH_officialtwt) and Chungha (@CHUNGHA_MNHent).
