Supporting local artists with #ExploreSGArts

Twitter is where people and communities connect to talk about what matters the most to them. From painters, illustrators, to sketchers and designers; artists across the world come to Twitter to share what they’re passionate about, meet other individuals with similar interests, and hear more about #WhatsHappening. 

We have seen the work of some of the many artists on Twitter; whether they’re sharing their takes on the latest art challenge hashtags, or giving their followers sneak peeks at some of their latest projects across Southeast Asia. From #Fanart, #DigitalArt to #ArtsOnTwitter; there was even a 34% increase in conversations about Arts across Southeast Asia (2020 VS 2019). 

Singapore is no different -with a vibrant community of artists based here that connect within local borders, to reach out to fans, patrons, and other artists across the world. To recognise and celebrate the thriving art community in Singapore, we will be launching our first-ever #ExploreSGArts campaign from 9 to 16 June 2021, spotlighting the diversity of Singaporean artists on Twitter and encouraging people to share Singapore Twitter’s arts scene with the world via the hashtag #ExploreSGArts.

We’re excited to partner with some of the influential artists in Singapore for this campaign, including @Edu_Visualist, @rachta_lin, @speakcryptic, @sonnyliew, @toukadoru and @wanlingnic.

#ExploreSGArts will feature two key activities:

1.Our participating artists will share Twitter Lists of relevant artists to raise awareness for them and help draw attention to their work. Anyone on Twitter is invited to join in as well! All it takes is a Twitter List and the #ExploreSGArts hashtag.

2. Participating artists will also lead a session on Twitter Spaces; where they will discuss their work, what inspires them, and what it means to be an artist in Singapore. 

Participate in the #ExploreSGArts campaign and support your favourite Singaporean artists:

1. Create a Twitter List with your favourite Singaporean artists to share with the world and Tweet it out with the hashtag #ExploreSGArts.

2. Join our Spaces event on 16 June 2021 @7.30pm to learn more about our local artist community. You can share questions in advance with the hashtag #ExploreSGArts.
