Jason Derulo rocks @GMA with Vine

Thursday, 1 August 2013

When @jasonderulo performed on the @GMA Summer Concert Series stage recently, he decided to take his followers right along with him.

Derulo promoted his appearance by posting eight @Vineapp videos, giving his followers an exclusive look at what it was like to get New York — and the rest of the country — rocking first thing in the morning.

Using @Vineapp, Jason Derulo’s @GMA performance was seen around the world.

Among the results: there were more than 3,000 mentions of the hashtag #GMADerulo; he saw increases of 3X in @replies and 1.5X in daily follower growth. And instead of his concert reaching just a U.S. television audience, fans as far away as France, Germany and Thailand saw the Vine videos.

Here’s a look at some of the special access Twitter and Vine followers enjoyed, below.

@GMA started by promoting the hashtag, offering fans a chance to see their Tweets on air:

Then @JasonDerulo did the same, using a pic to get the hashtag out to his followers:

Then the Vine videos kicked in, with this shot of fans during his rehearsal:

And Jason promoted his appearance — as he literally walks to the stage:

Jason then talked to his followers between songs:

He thanked them as he finished up:

Right back at you, Jason …
