When @kobebryant signed a two-year extension with the Los Angeles @Lakers Monday morning, both parties announced the news on Twitter.

It’s been retweeted more than 13,000 times and counting:

Shortly after the announcement, @kobebryant tweeted a picture of the contract with his signature, which included his @handle:

Kobe’s “proof of signing” Tweet has been featured in stories on ESPN, Yahoo and Bleacher Report, and retweeted more than 40,000 times. And according to Topsy, in the hours after the announcement more than 40,000 Kobe-related Tweets were sent.
