Coming right up: #BETAwards night

As hip-hop and R&B’s biggest stars make their way to LA for the 2014 BET Awards, Twitter will be jam-packed with VIP Tweets during the show. It airs Sunday, June 29 at 8 p.m. PT / 7 p.m CT.

For a unique real-time view of the A-list fashions, performances and artists, follow the conversation around #BETAwards on Twitter. What’s more, BET has a few special surprises in store, and they’re using Twitter to reveal some new announcements surrounding the show.

Prior to Sunday’s festivities, @BETAwards introduced two new performers through their official Vine account. Six seconds of stop motion debuted artwork including @NickiMinaj and other clues hinting at a live performance from @Pharrell.


FANdemonium
This year, fans have the power to influence which artists take home @BETAwards’ hashtag-powered award. The FANdemonium ballot factors in a series of social media challenges. For one challenge, @BET asked you to “Do it for the Vine” and submit a Vine video of yourself dancing to one of your favorite tracks from @Beyonce, @TreySongz, @Rihanna and @Jtimberlake. All Vine submissions counted toward BET’s official Fandemonium award category, and the the winner will be announced on air during the BET Awards show. The voting series ends on Friday, June 27.

Vine 360 Booth
At 6 p.m. ET, tune in to the BET Awards Pre-Show and get ready to see your favorite superstars make their way to the party. For the first time, @BET and @Pantene are teaming up to feature a Vine 360 Booth on the official #BETAwards red carpet. @BETAwards will tweet Vine videos capturing the latest style trends from music’s fashion-forward artists.

Twitter Mirror
Throughout the show, follow @BETAwards and @106andPark. Both accounts will tweet exclusive Twitter Mirror pics of your favorite artists backstage and around the scene.

Who to follow
The one and only @ChrisRock will live-tweet during his big night as host of this year’s show. Follow this list to join in on the off-stage action and keep up with behind-the-scenes happenings from the BET Experience events.

BET is also giving fans from around the world time to shine on the big screen. Tweet using #BETAwards for the chance to have your Tweets featured on air during the show.
