Wednesday, 17 February 2016

@NASCAR will wave the green flag on exclusive Twitter, Vine, and Periscope content all week — and of course on Sunday, Feb. 21 for the 58th annual #DAYTONA500. Here’s how you can join the conversation live.

Only on Twitter

To start, make sure you’re following @NASCAR, @NASCARonFOX, and @DISupdates for all the behind-the-scenes action, and jump into the conversation via #DAYTONA500.

To help bring Daytona 500 Tweets to life, we’ve partnered with NASCAR on a new #DAYTONA500 Twitter emoji. Fans can Tweet and join the conversation to bring color to their Daytona Tweets.

NASCAR, teams, and drivers will share some great photos with racing fans all week via a Twitter Mirror. Here are some photos from Media Day:

Throughout the week, NASCAR’s biggest stars will take you behind the scenes. Be sure to follow @DanicaPatrick, @DaleJr, @JimmieJohnson, and all drivers from this Twitter list.

Be sure to follow all the NASCAR teams.

Hashtag 500
On Sunday, NASCAR will invite fans on Twitter to race in the first-ever Hashtag 500 for a chance to win authentic memorabilia from this year’s Great American Race. Fans must watch the live race broadcast on FOX and/or follow @NASCAR on Twitter to receive custom hashtags to Tweet with for a chance to win 10 special giveaways. The 500th person to Tweet the hashtag in conjunction with #DAYTONA500 wins the race and will take home a race-used item such as a driver firesuit, helmet, steering wheel, pit sign, gear shifter, or Goodyear tires.
