Starting on March 28, more than 3,000 museums, galleries, and cultural institutions from over 69 countries will come together on Twitter for the third edition of #MuseumWeek.
The week-long celebration runs through April 3 and will give you backstage access to museums across the globe — regardless of where you live — all of which can be discovered on Twitter, Periscope, and Vine. Check out which museums are participating, and start following them today.
Each day, museums will keep you involved by Tweeting with that day’s respective hashtag.
You can use these visual assets the #MuseumWeek team has prepared for you to personalise your Twitter account and show your support for the event.
What’s new this year?
On Twitter, every time you will Tweet with #MuseumWeek or the 7 daily hashtags, a Twitter emoji with the MuseumWeek logo will be attached to the hashtag in your Tweet.
On Periscope, live video sessions will be hosted by iconic museums to teleport you inside their walls.
And throughout the week, Periscope hearts will transform into picture frames when you add #MuseumWeek to the title of your broadcast.
In the spirit of #MuseumWeek, Vine is celebrating art through a featured channel dedicated exclusively to art - the first of its kind! The channel will feature Vines from talented artists who will be remixing and reinterpreting traditional art in their unique aesthetics. Twenty Vine creators from the US, the UK, France, and Spain will also gather in Paris to celebrate art and culture through Vines that capture the beauty and magic of the Eiffel Tower, Musee du Louvre, Centre des Monuments Nationaux, Cite des sciences, Arc de Triomphe and Pantheon. Discover the talents here and start following them on Twitter and Vine.
