Halloween is about to happen, and is happening on Twitter. Halloween activities are already kicking off. As always, people are coming to Twitter to celebrate, share and shop.

Our recent Halloween research* shows the kinds of opportunities that this engagement creates for brands on Twitter.

We found that UK Twitter users plan on making a variety of Halloween purchases, with 76% planning to buy sweets, 50% planning to buying clothing, 40% planning to buy decorations, and 20% planning to buy movies for the holiday.

How can brands tap into these intentions? 41% of our users say they would like to see special offers on Halloween products, 33% would like to see decoration ideas, and 30% would like to see Halloween video clips and gifs.

Our research showed that the community and social aspects of Halloween really appeal to Twitter users. Brands can really benefit from this trend, becoming part of the conversation by encouraging people to share their own stories, pictures and videos.
