Twitter is bursting with local creators from all around the world. They use our global platform to invite their fans to #SeeEverySide by experiencing and exploring their community and creativity through their eyes. Creators and influencers have a special connection with their followers on Twitter, and play a key role in showing the world #WhatsHappening wherever they are.

Back in 2016, Twitter India celebrated local creators and users with a week-long live showcase called #EveryCharacterMatters. This year, on 10 August, we’re going global and making #EveryCharacterMatters bigger and better, by launching the world's first creator-based video relay featuring more than 24 hours of continuous content from 40 creators across 10 countries and 14 cities!

The #EveryCharacterMatters video relay begins on 10 August on top of the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge, before moving on to Melbourne, Tokyo, Singapore, Jakarta, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, London, Sao Paulo, Toronto, New York, Mexico City, Denver and Vancouver.

The creators that use Twitter are diverse, have a range of passions and interests and use Twitter to connect with audiences and communities all over the world. This means that the content created for #EveryCharacterMatters will be as diverse as the talent taking part, and will range from musicians collaborating with their fans on their next track, creators showing the world what makes their city special, expression about important issues through spoken word and, live Q&As.

Aussie creators include:

  • Tom Jay Williams (@tomjaywilliams) launching the global video relay atop the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge. Time: 12:00pm
  • Alli Simpson (@allisimpson) is joining for a fan Q&A, answering questions from her Periscope callout and live comments throughout the broadcast.  Time: 12:30pm
  • Dan Moore (@danandmoore) is heading down to Taronga Zoo to cuddle koalas and chill with the rest of the animal kingdom (including a special guest!) Time: 1:00pm
  • Mr Muselk (@mrmuselk) will answer as many questions as humanly possible during a rapid fire fan Q&A. Time: 1:30pm
  • Tyde Levi (@tydelevi) is sharing a little more of Melbourne with the audience, broadcastng from his favourite places in Australia’s ‘coolest’ capital. He will also answer live questions between videos. Time: 2:00pm
  • Marcelo (@marceloDLV) will join Twitter for a live musical performance on periscope and answer live questions. Time: 2:30pm
  • Isaiah Firebrace (@isaiahofficial) will answer all the questions his fans have been dying to know, with snippets of performance, and a few surprises up his sleeve too. Time: 3:00pm
  • Jai Waetford (@jaiwaetford) will reveal brand new music live and, when not performing, will answer fan questions in real time. Time: 3:30pm

Thanks to the real-time nature of Twitter and Periscope, you’ll be able to interact with all of the creators taking part live on Twitter! Here’s what some of the amazing creators involved are saying about being part of the first global Twitter video relay, and why Twitter is a great place for creators.

Community and collaboration play a huge part in my life and Twitter has to be the easiest way for a creator and an audience to really interact. Being part of #EveryCharacterMatters is a way to unite the global community, share inspiring, bite-size, content, and make new friends around the world. I love video, especially the instant connection created with LIVE, so I’ll be heading to Taronga Zoo overlooking Sydney Harbour to show the world some cuddly Koalas and some other friendly animals, on Twitter.

Twitter is a great platform for musicians because it lets us speak directly to our fans, which is so important for an artist.Twitter is honest and it's the platform where everyone can speak their mind. I love that people tell me what they think about my music and performances directly. I can't wait to be a part of the #EveryCharacterMatters fun. I’ll be answering fan questions and have a few surprises up my sleeve, so make sure to tune in!
