#NRL season is upon us again! To celebrate, @TwitterAU have asked us blokes from the @sharkcastpod, the biggest club-focused supporter podcast in Australia, to give you the skinny on the best fan accounts and podcasts on Twitter around Rugby League, the greatest game of all.
Fan-generated content on Twitter offers something different outside the regular news outlets and is generally funnier, weirder and more unhinged than the official news channels.
Here’s some of our fave footy accounts to get around:
Steve Mascord is one of the biggest Rugby League fans in the world, spending 10 months of the year on the road following the game and White Line Feveris one of the longest running Rugby League podcasts. He mixes his insider goss with equal dollops of foot to the floor rock and roll.
@denankemp is an ex-@brisbanebroncos and @NRLdragons player and runs his own weekly podcast/vodcast #blokeinabar and #thelockerroom. He has regular, extensive and intimate interviews with all the current superstars in the game.
A rolling cast of excellent and funny analysts who all have one thing in coming; they aren’t guys! Let’s be honest,@NRL has a blokey reputation and these girls are restoring the balance in podcast land.
The Oh Errol girls mix laughs, big time guests (their roasting of @gus10gould was priceless) and sharp analysis on their weekly show.
Poor old @nrlknights. They only won one game last year and things don’t look too much brighter this year. At least they have a great podcast for their supporters.
This Week In League isprobably the biggest unofficial @NRL podcast out there. Based in Queensland, this is a more serious discussion panel with a rotating cast looking at the news of the week.
NRL fans take their @supercoachNRL seriously and this podcast is focussed on all the tips and goss to get a killer Supercoach team together.
The original and biggest club based podcast (if we do say so ourselves). All the news on the reigning premiers @cronulla_sharks with player interviews and a regular slot with the coach.
Enjoy the season and good luck to your team (other than when they’re playing the Sharks!).
