How Comic Con India Played Out On Twitter

Twitter is the best place to see what's happening in India and the world. For pop culture enthusiasts, Comic Con India (@ComicConIndia), OnePlus India (@OnePlus_IN) and Twitter joined forces to bring unparallelled access to the best of comics, gaming, cosplay and more from #ComicCon India shows in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi to the platform. 

A first for the genre in India, OnePlus India (@OnePlus_IN) came onboard Twitter as an in-stream video sponsor of exclusive content from Comic Con India (@ComicConIndia) shows to the platform. The sponsorship enabled Comic Con India and OnePlus India to reach out to their extended audience in India and comic fans around the world with exclusive content from the events. Twitter’s in-stream video sponsorship enables publishers to monetize video content while making it easy for advertisers to reach engaged audiences and sponsor exclusive content.

To enhance the fan experience with a video-first attitude, Comic Con India (@ComicConIndia) showered fans with sneak peeks and behind the scenes footage on Twitter, as well as an exploration of the special comic experiential zones from the comfort of their homes.  Highlights included:

  • Interactions with Comedians: Comic Con India featured interactions with popular Indian comedians like Sahil Shah (@SahilBulla), Mallika Dua (@MallikaDua), Rohan Joshi (@mojorojo), Prajakta Kohli (@iamMostlySane) and more on Twitter, to let fans find out more about their sources of comic relief, and also tickle their funny bones.

  • Live updates from cosplay stage: Cosplay fans could enjoy the cosplay stage where people dressed up as characters from their favourite movies or comics, and updates from this stage was also Tweeted live.

  • Live broadcast of interactions: Comic Con India dedicated a separate stage for on-ground interactions with international guests so that fans can enjoy the live broadcasts on Twitter.

  • Live Gaming: And gamers across the country had a great time with exciting matches and games being live broadcast on Twitter, straight from the Comic Con Live stage.

Results

The campaign generated a significant amount of interest for Comic Con India (@ComicConIndia) and OnePlus India (@OnePlus_IN) from comic fans on Twitter. Over 200 videos on Comic Con India were featured on Twitter, attracting more than 1.9 million video views and 4.8 million impressions.
