Normally, Jay-Z (@S_C_) isn’t the most prolific tweeter, but he recently emerged from his Twitter hiatus to connect personally with fans.

Here are some #FactsOnly about the spontaneous Twitter Q&A on Monday, July 8 with Jay-Z.

It began with a response to an unsuspecting fan:

 …and from there, the volley of his replies to questions lasted for seven hours. Fans from all corners of the globe tweeted questions to @S_C_ , and with rapid @-reply speed, Hova revealed never-before-heard info about the inspirations behind #MagnaCartaHolyGrail (also known as #MCHG, his twelfth studio album) and other facts of (his) life:

In less than an hour, fans around the world had tuned in on Twitter, #MCHG became the #2 worldwide trending topic, and 100+ people had Tweeted replies from Hov himself. By the end of the seven-hour marathon, the @S_C_ follower count grew by 46,000 and there were more than 1.5 million mentions of Jay-Z and the new album.
