Ready for NBA #OpeningNight

Tuesday, 29 October 2013

The start of the @NBA season is just moments away. Thanks to players keeping fans current via Twitter, the offseason went by in a flash. But the real action starts now with #OpeningNight tip off, and will continue throughout the season with Twitter as your court-side seat.

Here’s how you can use Twitter to keep up with all of the action on and off the basketball court:

Not only can you use Twitter to talk about the game you’re watching — you can also use Twitter to vote for the games you want to watch. NBA TV (@NBATV) allows fans to vote for the Tuesday night matchup using #FanNightVote.

And this year, with NBA Pulse, the @NBA will help you keep up with this season’s best highlights, stats and moments. You’ll be able to see which players spark the highest volume of conversation on Twitter.

Taking Twitter contests to a new level, @NBAonTNT has made a Twitter-powered vending machine that will dispense prizes when fans tweet with #TNTPRIZE. Anything from apparel to tickets might be yours if you see the vending machines around New York and tweet using the hashtag.

During the offseason, players and teams brought us to practice, capturing their intense routines and drills in real time on Vine and Twitter. From California to China, players prepped hard to bring their A-game this season.

In addition to perfecting their game in the offseason, NBA stars also volunteered, goofed off and enjoyed some downtime. Here’s a snapshot of what your favorite players have been up to, off the court:

It turns out, you and NBA players have one big thing in common — being huge sports fans! During their time off the court, some of the NBA’s biggest stars spent time tweeting their support during big games in other leagues.

Follow @TwitterSports to keep up with the action this season.
